Sound familiar?? This problem is the whole reason behind my passion for this work!!! Having been a student myself, and having teenagers of my own I understand the dilemma. When you’re a kid, and you’ve had no exposure to the existence of Human Resources Managers or Auditors or Occupational Therapists (for examples), then how could you possibly know to explore those directions as career options for you?!! It’s a massive dilemma!! The career assessment I use in my work, the Strong Interest Inventory, can be utilized by lots of different counselling professionals however I think (and not to toot my own horn... ok maybe a little ;)) that the 20+years experience I have gained working in the corporate career transition business, giving me exposure to a multitude of working environments and careers, can really help struggling students to visualize themselves in a particular roles because I can explain to them what those jobs entail - And that’s when the glorious light bulb moments happen!!!! www.declareitcareers.com #declareitcareers#careercounseling #studentlife#studentproblems #student #highschool#university #college #careerguidance#careercoaching #careergoals#empoweryourself #lightbulbmoments
