How many of you students can relate to this sentiment?! Lol I find it’s either one way or another with many parents. Way too overbearing in their interest or not interested at all in what their kids future plans are. If your parent falls into this category, please remember that, even though they continually bombard you with their insights and ideas for YOUR future, they are really looking out for your best interests. And their overbearing ness comes from a place of their own fear. What you need to do is EMPOWER YOURSELF- do YOUR research, talk to people, get outside THIRD PARTY help so that you get OBJECTIVE advice. If you do this, I guarantee you will develop the confidence to announce YOUR career plans to your parents and the world!
